About Chalk & Spark
Conversations on teaching, learning and technology. This season the focus is AI.
Each issue takes one question about teaching and learning and gathers recent research that bears on it. Every issue comes in a short and a long edition, with an audio conversation and full links to the studies it discusses. The research is where the conversation starts, not where it ends.
How issues are made
Candidate studies are found through searches of research databases. AI tools help screen them and extract details from each paper. Every study is then read in full, and every citation, number and claim is checked against the original before an issue is published. Each issue explains its own process in more detail.
Beyond the page
Each issue is followed by a lunch and learn at Mount Royal University. A few times a year, a larger panel brings together people with different views on one of the season's themes.
The introductory issue, with more on why Chalk & Spark exists, is on its way.
